Thank-you so much. This really resonated with me. I can relate to so much of what you have gone through. When I discovered how badly my husband (now ex) was addicted to porn, I went to see bishop. I wanted him to address this issue to give men some resources and was very discouraged that he quickly dismissed me. I have been married three times to men who have hid pornogtaphy etc. My first husband after telling me he can’t be married, revealed that he took a week off work to watch porn instead of taking me on a honeymoon. Devastating for me at 21 years old. Ten years later married again to a man who swore he wasn’t into porn. Marriage to him was hell. I moved out a year later as he ended it and his huge porn stash stayed. I could go on…. experienced emotional and physical abuse in all these marriages. I am in a safe place now finally with my two boys and healing. Bless you for your work.

Anne your story is identical to mine in so many ways! Even down to the undiagnosable auto-immune issues! 10 yrs ago an abuse trauma therapist saved me and my then 6 yr old son’s lives, after multiple “counsellors” supporting the cycle over years. Nothing changed for me and my boy until she shoved the “Power & Control Wheel” and “Abuse Cycle” PDFs in my hands. There was our life, on two A4 pieces of paper! I love your thinking in keeping things in infographics and easy to digest. The more this knowledge is spread the better. Knowledge is truely power, especially in this insidious territory. Thank you Anne for having the courage, and Richa for your dedication to put this out there.
